How to Get Rid of Black Worms in Bathroom and Prevent Them From Returning

Have you recently noticed an infestation of black worms in your bathroom and are concerned that these little creatures are bringing disease or even damage to your home? Then you don’t have to worry anymore! There are several ways to get rid of worms in the bathroom and prevent them from coming back. Read on to find out more.

Where do the worms come from?

Since black worms are almost always found near the bathroom drain, their entry point is in the drain. But the question is how they will get there.

Clogged or blocked pipes are a breeding ground for worms and drain flies. These critters feed on soap and organic material in the pipes. Worms are also attracted to other wet spots in the bathroom.

If left unchecked, black worms can infect a bathroom because their eggs take two days to grow into larvae. Once the larvae have reached the pupal stage, they become adult worms in 3 weeks. Therefore, it is necessary to locate the breeding sites and control the pest quickly.

To locate breeding sites, place a piece of tape on places where you suspect worms. After a few days, check for black worms on the strip. Once you’ve found where they are, follow our suggestions to kill the worms and prevent them from coming back.

How to deal with black worms in the bathroom

Cleaning of drains outside bathrooms

Cleaning bathroom pipes outside is an effective way to get rid of worms. This removes maggot deposits and dirt that attract black worms.

To clean the outside of the pipes, pour hot water into the pipe to loosen dirt. A wire brush can also be used to remove excess dirt from pipes. Use a pipe cleaning gel to lubricate the sides of the pipe and remove the dirt. Leave the cleansing gel on for a few hours and rinse off with warm water.

Spray the lines withInsecticide.

Insecticides and chemical sprays are very effective at killing adult worms that remain in the pipes after the larvae have been cleaned up. Since eliminating the larvae is not enough to prevent the worms from returning, the pipes should be sprayed with insecticides. Mix the insecticide with water as directed, but follow the instructions carefully.

Coils of the closing head

Getting rid of worms by pouring hot water down the drain is an easy way to get rid of these critters. For best results, put baking soda in it every morning followed by hot water. Repeat three times a week, starting with the next week.

If you don’t have baking soda on hand, you can also pour strong bleach down the toilet to keep those pesky critters away. You can do this twice a week until there are no more traces of worms in the bathroom.

Use household cleaner

Bleach is not dry cleaning. If you prefer to use toxic-free household cleaners, opt for baking soda to remove eggs from your bathroom pipes. Make sure the drain is clean before pouring baking soda down it. This method should be applied every week to completely eliminate the black worms.

Pour distilled vinegar into tubes

Another chemical-free cleaning solution is distilled white vinegar. This method is effective in destroying the larvae that nest in the drains. For best results, you can add baking soda to the vinegar, but never anything else, for example. B. Bleach, because the treatment may release chlorine gas, which is toxic to humans. Pour a cup of vinegar down the drain, let it stand for a few hours and rinse with hot water.

Clean blocked pipes

Black worms like to feed on the dirt in clogged pipes. Use a hard brush to clean clogged drains. If you are not comfortable with this task, hire an expert cleaning company to do it for you. Regularly cleaning the pipes in your bathroom will reduce the chance of these pesky critters multiplying.

What if you still have black worms in your bathroom?

If you have tried all of the above methods and your bathroom is still infected with black worms, the problem may be more serious. At this point, consider removing the pipes where the blockage occurred. The best way to do this is to call in an installer.

By physically unclogging your sink and shower pipes, you can find the actual clogs where the worms crawl. If the problem persists, contact a professional exterminator to verify that the pipes under your home are not faulty. Generally, a thorough cleaning of your bathroom pipes will solve your worm problem, but you can also try the following methods:

Use trap

After you have cleaned and checked all the pipes in your bathroom, place traps on the drain holes to prevent black flies from entering your pipes. Be sure to replace the traps as needed.

Closed entry points

Identifying the gaps or holes through which these creatures can enter solves the core of the problem. Plug the holes, but not the drain. You can also spray the entry points with insecticide or diluted vinegar to deter worms. If you’re not sure where the entry points are in your bathroom, contact a professional pest control company to have it inspected.

Cleanliness is one of the best ways to prevent worms from invading your bathroom. Always make sure the toilet and shower are free of dirt and that there are no cracks or holes. Replace old sewer pipes with a plumber, and call a professional pest control company to help you with these ugly pests in your home.
