We’ve all been teenagers, so we have to understand that teenage rooms can’t just be neat, sparkling clean, white and boring.

That will never change. So if you’re a teenager, embrace your age and make your room look like this lifestyle. And parents of teenagers, remember, they’re only teenagers once.
Because, let’s face it, those years of recklessness won’t last forever. So hang another poster on the wall, or paint something, hang a sword, or anything else that makes your room look closer.
If you need inspiration, we share some of our favourite decoration ideas for teenagers, so stay tuned for inspiration.
Youth hall – Rules for youth
Today’s teenagers are pretty aware of design and decorative trends, and they always seem to know what they want, so don’t try to convince them of something they don’t like.
Teenagers don’t like to spend time with the rest of the family, they’re too cool and busy texting to play with their younger siblings, so their bedroom should be more than just a bedroom.
Their space must be versatile, because it is a room where they study, play video games, entertain friends, sleep, etc.
A well-equipped teenager’s room should have a desk, a comfortable bed, maybe lazy bags or a couch to spend time with friends. And look nice and cool at the same time, if that’s possible. Here are some ways to do this:
Bespoke wallpaper
Wallpaper a wall to accentuate, but also to give the room a little character. It could be a wallpaper with your favorite Marvel characters, a beautiful pink girly pattern, or a planetary system with a rocket.
Or you could do the same with your curtains. Anything that shows what you want, then design the rest of the piece according to the theme.
Metal decor
Metals are in fashion, and teenagers know it. It would be a great idea to integrate custom artistic stickers for walls or offices to create a modern and aesthetic look. For example, a cold wall clock made of brass or copper, but also many parts of the same metal.
Fibre range
All teenagers love beaches and this casual style, so you can easily give your room a beach theme. White and turquoise walls, or wallpaper with palm trees, many Caribbean details with shells, wood, flower chains, etc. You can use sun loungers instead of normal chairs, they are much more comfortable.
Monochromatic vision
Monochrome interiors are a major trend, especially in light shades such as grey, pink, blue and yellow. Colours affect our mood, so choose them wisely.
The best way to achieve this look is to first focus on large areas. First paint the walls, then change the bedding or the bedspread, the curtains and maybe the furniture afterwards. The room should not be filled with stuff; it should be clean and spacious, without unnecessary details and things.
Black and white
Who doesn’t like a beautiful black and white interior? It is elegant, chic and always modern, whatever the trends.
Choose details such as frames, lamps, vases, cushions in black or white to create contrast throughout the room.
You don’t have to redecorate the whole room if you already have blue curtains and green cushions, a few black and white items will do.
Sidewall
We all like to draw on signs at school, so why not in your room? Large blackboard walls are a great success and an excellent choice for anyone who is creative, likes to draw or write. Even your friends can leave you notes and drawings, so it’s fun for everyone.
Princess Baldakin
Okay, not all girls are girls, but there’s something about canopies that adds a special touch to any room.
You don’t have to choose this Barbie pink color, you can find canopies in all colors and sizes and they will complement your decor perfectly.
Make it simple and soft, in neutral tones, and spice things up.
Boho vibes
The boho is another trend that has been popular in recent years, and teenagers love it because it’s so colorful, relaxed and fun.
Hang dream traps near windows, throw a colorful blanket over your bed, look for old pillowcases or small rugs and look for textured materials.
Bottom line
Decorating is not easy for teenagers, they often change their minds, but still they hold on to their opinions as if they haven’t changed them in years. But their age allows them to do many things and undertake activities that we adults wouldn’t normally do. So let them do their work and create a unique living space that belongs to them.
