Bad Bedroom Cleaning Habits to Put to Bed

A bedroom is where we live, dream, and have endless Netflix binging. It is like a sanctuary for us. After a long day out, we return to our bedroom and restore ourselves for the next day. So, make it your top priority to keep it clean and tidy.

Cleaning is already a hassle. But you might make it even worse with some bad habits. You are not alone; we all have bad habits that we must put to bed. Here are some terrible bedroom cleaning habits you must break:

Making Bed Your First Task of the Day

Many of us think that making the bed first thing in the morning is the best way to start the day. The attitude is correct, but the way is wrong. Making your bed as soon as you wake up does not get any breathing space. As a result, your body sweats, and dust mites are entrapped in your bed.

So, wake up in the morning, brush your teeth, have a nice cup of tea, and come back to make your bed. It will be dry and ready in the meantime.

Not Cleaning Under the Bed

Most people stack their unused items under the bed. It is the worst bad habit with people. It will be a real hassle if you try to clean them all simultaneously. But you have to do it at some point. Otherwise, you will have bedbugs in no time.

You should regularly clean under your bed. The easiest way to do it is to divide them and clean them one by one. Declutter your bedroom frequently. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean under the bed effectively. Install a proper storage unit under your bed if you want to store items.

Using a Chair

One particular chair is very iconic in most houses, and many people use it as a replacement for a wardrobe in their bedroom. It is most common in any teen’s bedroom. Let me remind you, a chair is not a closet to put your worn dresses in.

You must put this bad habit to bed. Start by cleaning your closet. Then pick up your dresses from the chair and put them in the closet. Finally, put on a nice pillow to make it cozy.

Leaving the Pillow and Mattress

While cleaning your bed, do not leave the mattress and the pillows. You must clean them too. You will invite bedbugs and more dust mites if you fail to do it. You have to clean them and sanitize them several times.

Throw your pillow into a washing machine; it will come out clean and dry. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the mattress. Sprinkle baking soda and vacuum again to remove any stain.

Cleaning Without Bedsheet

While cleaning your bedroom, you should leave your bedding. Because if you remove the bedsheet and pillow cover, all that dust and debris will cover our bare mattress and pillow. It will make these dirtier.

So, make sure you dust your bedroom before cleaning your bedsheets and pillow covers. It will boost your bedroom hygiene.
