The Reason You Should Never Kill a House Centipede

What’s tall, flirty, and has up to 177 legs? Yes, the centipede, an animal that is too common in our homes and above all undesirable. But before you crush the next one, take a break. They can be a little scary, a little creepy, but unlike most other unwelcome guests who invade your home from time to time, they are also incredibly helpful. If you thought you had to resort to aggressive chemicals and expensive professionals to get rid of a bedbug infestation in your home, think again. In fact, all it takes is one or two friendly centipedes.

According to MSN, house centipedes love to nibble at vermin such as cockroaches, moths, flies, silverfish and termites, which damage all your clothes, your home and perhaps even yourself, in ways an innocent house centipede could not even dream of. The way they catch their lunch is really fascinating… if it’s a little disgusting. When they see a prey, they use the two legs closest to their head (which also serve as tusks) to lasso their unsuspecting prey before packing the rest of their many legs for a bite.

Centipede very hungry

As Country Living notes, centipedes are voracious eaters with an insatiable appetite. Due to their high metabolic rate in the air, they are always on the lookout and never rest long enough to make annoying nets or nests to worry about. No matter how large the infestation of termites, cockroaches, moths, flies or silverfish is, the centipede in our house is cleaned and brought under control in a surprisingly short time.

How to collect centipedes for Home

Native millipedes carry no deadly diseases, their canines are not sharp enough to pierce human skin and they do a good job of getting rid of the most cruel insect pest. But we get it. For some people, bugs will always be as scary as ever…. And who wants a house full of nasty bugs?

If you decide to rid your house of small intruders, no matter how harmless, there are a few tactics you can use to get rid of the Centipede House quickly and safely. Before you take off your shoes next time, stop. Run into the kitchen, grab a piece of paper and a glass, then use both to pick up the baby and take it outside. It can go its merry way through all the vermin in the garden, and you can stop jumping to the nearest chair if you see anything rustling on the carpet.

The next step is to make sure he and his friends don’t come back. Start by identifying any cracks or crevices in the walls where insects may have entered and fill them up. Then you have to look at their food source. Centipedes love food; if they can’t find food in the house, they don’t bother to stay. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy to rob them of food by simply putting a lock on the fridge. Centipedes eat other parasites, which means you have to get rid of them before you can get rid of millipedes.

Since insects such as humidity, use a dehumidifier to reduce humidity and make your home a little less invasive to intruders than it would otherwise be. Always use a bathroom fan when taking a shower or bath, or leave a window open if you don’t have one. You may also consider some of mystayathomeadventures.com’s best pest control suggestions (and, by extension, millipedes for the house):

Preparation of a spray for natural repellents

Stay away from potentially toxic chemical pesticides by trying to find safe and natural alternatives. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water and put it in a spray bottle for quick relief. If you like, you can try a citrus-based remedy (especially effective against mosquitoes, scale insects, aphids and even slugs) by adding the zest of an orange to 500 ml of water and bringing it to the boil. Leave for 24 hours before adding a few drops of liquid soap to the siphon. Every time you say bugs, give them a good bite.

Use essential oils

If there’s one thing insects hate more than an exterminator, it’s the smell of peppermint. Dip cotton balls in peppermint essential oil and scatter them where you think the insects are hiding. You can also try to spray the oil directly on the entrances that the insects use to enter the house.

Cover the holes with the grid

Even if your house is protected from two-legged burglars, they’ll always find a way out. Block their path by covering chimneys, crawl spaces, drier air ducts, extraction fans or roof fans with wire mesh or partitions.

Pick them up before they enter field.

Fighting insects once they are in the house can be a pleasant surprise. So why don’t we take action and keep them out in the first place? Electronic sticky traps, ultrasonic repellents, spring traps, sticky traps, cage traps and insect sprays can all be installed outside your home to prevent small creatures from entering.

Maintenance of a clean house

If you want to keep centipedes out of your house, you have to deprive them of their source of food. And if you want your home to be free of their food source, you have to stop feeding the insects and creatures they feed on. Dispose of waste immediately and never leave dirty dishes or cutlery to rot on the kitchen surface overnight. Repair leaks if they occur and wipe or suck regularly to remove debris and crumbs.
